Itinerary
Day 1 - Nov. 3
Depart for Italy
Day 2 - Nov. 4
Arrive in Levanto, check-in and get settled and enjoy a welcoming Aperitivo.
Day 3 - Nov. 5
Begin the day learning about olive trees and the Cinque Terre region and enjoy an extra virgin olive oil seminar and tasting with an Italian expert. Travel by train and visit the Mediterranean jewel, the lovely coastal town of Vernazza. Continue on to visit the village of Riomaggiore. Return to Levanto by train.
Day 4 - Nov. 6
Travel by train to Manarola to visit the town, and continue on by bus to Volastra. Enjoy a wine tasting and lunch at Luciano Capellini. Admire the coastal views from above and visit the vineyards. Continue on by train to visit the town of Monterosso al Mare. Return to Levanto hotel.
Day 5 - Nov. 7
Transfer to Parma, the legendary town of food, opera, and renaissance art. Partake in a guided tour of the medieval city center and enjoy a group dinner of Parmesan cuisine. Check-in to the Parma hotel.
Day 6 - Nov. 8
Travel by bus to learn about Parmigiano Reggiano cheese from an organic producer. Enjoy lunch and sample their delicious cheeses. After lunch, continue by bus to visit a black pig farmer and prosciutto producer and enjoy their products. Return to Parma hotel.
Day 7 - Nov. 9
Travel by bus to Modena and the Acetaia San Matteo to learn about and taste vinegars. Continue on to visit a Lambrusco producer.
Day 8 - Nov. 10
Travel by bus to the Franciacorta region, land of the “Italian Champagne”. Visit a producer, partake in wine tasting, and enjoy lunch. Enjoy a free afternoon in metropolitan Milan, the fashion center of Italy. Check-in to Milan hotel.
Day 9 - Nov. 11
Visit of the world-famous masterpiece by Leonardo “The Last Supper” and take a guided tour of the Duomo of Milan and the La Scala Opera house, the Leonardo dams, and the medieval city center. Stay at the Milan hotel.
Day 10 - Nov. 12
Travel by train to Como. Weather permitting, enjoy a private boat tour around Lake Como and spend the afternoon exploring. We will gather to discuss the experience and have a group farewell dinner at a typical Osteria with Milanese food. Stay at the Milan hotel.
Day 11 - Nov. 13
Depart for home
